Title: Cleaning of trunk sealant and sound deadener unrestoren
Post by: swingkid on August 26, 2024, 10:49:04 AM
Sorry, if this question is inadequate, but as my car is mainly unrestored with lots of first paint, I tried to keep it the way it is. Now I am thinking of how to clean the  trunk from the dirt of the last 59 years, especially over and arround the sealant and sounddeadener without damaging it.

Or should I just keep it that way?

Thank you for any advise

Would try some mild cleaner first, something like diluted purple power or spray 9.  Can't really scrub it much as the paint may flake off the sealer.

With the quarter drop drain plugs removed and the gas tank out it would be easy to rinse out with a hose.
