Title: Non folding seat question

I have a November 68 Metuchen built Mach 1 with fixed rear seat.  My question is which way does the cap bar face that goes on top of the seat back?  The cap is angled, so does the downward angle face towards the front or towards the rear of the car?

I have done a few of these and I am pretty sure the short side goes rearward.  Good luck!

I believe 69 and 70 are the same and my 70 has the angled piece to the rear of the car.
