Title: SJ Emergency brake handle hardware at Firewall
Post by: Bob Gaines on November 11, 2024, 07:58:33 PM
The assemblyline manual shows the nuts to be of the locking type with a separate washer for the Emergency brake handle hardware at the Firewall. I have found that and also the nut with attached but spinning toothed washer. I was wondering what others have seen as most prevalent for the SJ plant.

Separate washers with locking nuts, no tooth washers.  The nuts are slightly rounded on top.

Here are some examples of what I found in the pictures I have of those items from 66 San Jose cars. Since the washer and nuts are the same finish and the washer is only slightly larger than the nut they can  from a little distance to look like shouldered nuts especially with the domed tip of the nut
