Title: 68 fastback rear window spacers
Post by: 68JCode on June 08, 2011, 01:38:57 PM
I am installing my rear glass,(68 fb, San Jose) and the osborne manual shows 4 spacers (C7ZB-63420A22) - looks like two on the bottom, and one each side.

I do not remember these when I disassembled  - what is their purpose, and should I procure some?

Also, any tips for installing trim without damaging paint?

Thanks,

Andrew

Have seen some on 69 San Jose cars - not certain (might be another assembly manual thing) that all plants used them all years

When I was disassembling my 68 fastback there were 4 glass spacers as you mentioned. It was an original car, Dearborn assembly, and had never been apart. When I re-installed the back glass I tried to use the spacers, but was having difficulty getting the glass to fit right. Maybe the repo weatherstip, I don't know. Anyway, I took the spacers out and everything fit fine. That was 7 years ago, and have not had any problems. Hope this helps.     Doug
