My May 12th built 64.5 Convertible project car has a manual top. It came with only 1 of the roof clamps on the left side. The plastic clamp was broken off but you could see the remnants were white. The reproduction clamps are black. A gentleman from this forum has a service replacement piece that is also black.
Another difference I see with the service replacement and the reproduction units is the base is larger than my presumably original bracket that came on my car.
My question does anyone have any knowledge of white vs black tops and small vs large bases?
A fellow forum member sold me 2 original brackets that came with white tops and larger bases. I swapped the white top from one of the large base units and riveted it to my original small base. But I have had no luck finding another small base.
Thank you,
Corey

Ford service replacement parts are often from different year Mustangs and often from a different car line. You need to do some research involving Ford engineering part numbers and Ford service stock numbers. Do you have the 64 Mustang Body Assembly Manual?
