Title: slave cylinder rebuild
Post by: Stangly on June 26, 2011, 12:38:17 PM
I'm having troubles removing the shaft from the cylinder.  I have removed the snap ring and seals, but there is still something hanging up.  The shop manual shows the last piece to be a seal but it sounds like metal on metal when I pull on the shaft.  I'm hoping to reuse this original part so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You will only wreck the cylinder.  The shaft will not come out of the ylinder unless you cut off the end and then weld it back together.  Replace only the double seals on the end and forget about the inside of the cylinder.

Thank you so much I knew there was something I was not doing correctly.  I can see the last seal at the end and should be able to get that out.

Thank you again,
David,
