Does anyone have pics of a single exhaust system on a 68 w/289 ?
Specifically the tail hanger. Did it bolt to the frame rail or use the tie-down bracket?
NPD shows a strap-looking thing for the tail hanger - is that right?
Mine had bolts and insulators to the tie down bracket but it had been redone years ago.
NPD is showing 2 clamps on the end piece - 2" and 2-1/4" What's that all about?
Was there an exhaust tip at all?

Do you have an assembly manual?

to the frame, unfortunately my photo album doesn't show that connection, only slightly the muffler hanger..........http://www.allfordmustangs.com/photopost/showgallery.php/cat/500/ppuser/105333

J speegle's second picture is what I have, the pipe hanger is about five inches before the tie down.

Bottom two shots are from the same car

I have a dual exhaust but am sure that it souk be single. Any pictures around of the entire tubing under the car and what is the part number for the Y section?
-
This is how Ford would have serviced the exhaust systems in 1968. The "Y" inlet pipe service part number is C8ZZ-5246-C.
***Edited to change from 67 to 68***

68 single exhaust is complely different to the 67 version. 68 the muffler and pipes extent back in a straight line where 67 is 90 degree into the muffler and 90 degrees out. The y pipe also is different to a 68. The parts are not interchangeable without completely removing the system from manifolds to tip. I would also assume hangers were also relocated with the different positions. I have a nos exhaust waiting for me to ship. Its 91 inches long, 1 piece and runs from the end of the Y pipes to the tail. I'll get the pic uploaded and drop it in here.
