Title: Small vs large nipple smog check valves
Post by: Oz390 on September 13, 2011, 08:55:17 AM
Was cleaning up two sets of OEM smog tubes and a few spare check valves I have and noticed two hose nipple sizes...

What were the OEM applications for the two variations?

The larger ones are service and maybe some assemblyline but not big block. They used the small nipple ones

I don't know the exact application list, but the large nipple ones were used on early CA smog on SBs and on Boss 302s.  The small nipple were later (like '67 I think) CA SBs and all 428 CJs.  Not sure which one the Boss 429s used but I think they were the small nipple like CJs.
