Looking for some help with a 67 wood steering wheel (non Shelby) with tilt column application:
1. What, if any, wood steering wheel parts are different comparing a tilt to regular column application? If yes, are there any diagrams or pictures available? The drawings in the Osborn manual and shop manual are not detailed enough.
2. Looking for source for the chrome emergency flasher knob (17513) - I read somewhere that they are different from the standard column. Is that true?
3. Also looking for source for the two very small (chrome plated I assume) screws that mount the interior color painted cover (3D505) that has holes for emergency flasher and turn signal stalk. Would these be included in a typical interior fastener kit?

1. The rear collar of the deluxe wheel for a tilt application is unique. I will post a pic as soon as I am able but it has rounded surfaces rather than flat to facilitate the tilt-away action. The non-tilt collar is reproduced, the tilt one is not. I may have one if you need one.
2. Emergency flasher knob is unique to 1967 tilt column. I think they are reproduced though. The bezel stamped "EMERGENCY" is not reproduced and rather difficult to find in good condition.
3. The tiny screws are not reproduced by AMK, are not in any kit AFAIK. They are chrome.

Pictures of mine are attached. Will compare with yours to determine if I need something else.

I've included a picture of mine from a tilt, with slightly damaged clips on the rear, along side what I believe to be a bezel from a standard column.

Also I'm missing the "nylon washer" 374280-S in the picture below. Looks simple enough to make. I can measure OD and ID, but establishing the thickness can be tricky. Does anyone have one they can measure? Or I suppose if there is an extra someone is willing to sell, that would be the "easy button". Thanks John

Washer found tucked up right where it is supposed to be. Just hard to see. Crisis averted.

Your lower collar is the non-tilt version. Here is the deluxe wheel lower collar for a tilt column:

John one possible correction regarding the small screws securing the collar. They are chrome but I just perused some images with them painted column colour (as the column was painted the requisite interior colour as an assembly). I'll check my unrestored car and original car images in my library and confirm my best information on this.

I presume you're aware the center hub of the deluxe wheel is different from that on the standard wheel:

Deluxe wheel center hub on the image viewer's right (taller). Standard wheel center hub is reproduced. While the deluxe wheel is reproduced, the unique center hub is not and presumably most are installing it with the standard center hub.

I was aware of the different height pad, flasher knob, and flasher bezel, but not the wood wheel collar. Thanks for the knowledge transfer. John

I noticed that there is an "exploded view" illustration in one of these posts. Where did you get it? It is not in the Fomoco 68 service manual, and, not in that 6 to 10 dollar "repair manual" you can find on Ebay. That one only deals with the vacuum and electrical part of the repairs for 67-69's.

Guess it's way too late to ask Fomoco why there is NOTHING about tilt-aways in the 68' manual. Ok, gotta finally break down and get the 67 manual as, after all, I have two 67's
