Title: wanted: 65 mustang parts value
Post by: 67gta289 on October 10, 2011, 09:38:04 PM
Found a 65 hardtop white, red pony interior in a junk yard.  Grabbed the disc brakes. Have access to driver's side spindle.  Has wood steering wheel and console but both badly exposed to the weather (license plate on car dated 1971).  Perhaps a few donor parts at best. Also could get the steering gear box. What is the value on these parts, to determine if worth my time to pull it.  Thanks John

Based on the dash pad, it looks like a 66.  I would suggest seeing if the following parts are there:

- Console compartment light
- Disc brake proportioning valve
- Caliper brackets

These are the not-so-available parts that I see might be there

All those parts are so corroded/pitted that I doubt they would be useful to anyone.  The spindles are junk, can't use them with all the pitting on the shafts.

Maybe the gauges and radio might be worth pulling and any wiring you can get to?

Thanks for the replies.  Want to spend my time (and money) wisely. John

I would check the steering gear, if it's a HCC-AX I would get it for sure,
You may have a tough time getting the steering wheel off though.
