Title: Yellow Top Coil Distributor Connection
Post by: Twilight65 on December 02, 2009, 11:48:59 PM
I was cleaning up the yellow top coil on my 66 and it got me thinking. On my 65 coil the distributor connection had a black plastic knobbed nut with a threaded brass insert to make the connection while my 66 it is a standard nut. Which is correct?

Included a picture of my 65.

Here is one from an original late 66 from San Jose (but a non Thermactor - non Calif car)

"Standard" nut has a toothed washer with it

Thanks Jeff,
Is the black knob on my 65 correct? I purchased the car from the original owner so I believe it is original.
