What would be factory correct finish for 67 Metuchen built hood hinges and springs?

Make sure you have the correct 67-version hinges before you restore and install them as there are 3 types from 67 to 70

How do you tell them apart? I bought a good used set and had the coated properly that I had planned on using on the 67, but never did. I now plan to use them on my 68.

The first C7ZZ version had x rivets with the top hood angled bracket being L part straight across top metal between the 2 rivets where as the later version is notched out there for hood bracing clearance.

Don't mean to hijack the thread...but it's too close to start another.
When was the transition from the 67 style to the 69? From the photos I have the 69 hinges. The number on the hinge is 0101022D2. My 68 is a July Jersey car.

You may have the correct c9zz type on your late 68 car as i have seen them on late KRs just like i have seen X rivets on early 70 cars before they went to the round dimpled rivets. It just may be the way inventory was rotated or they were using up excess inventory before new part arrived.
