Hey all -
Did some searches came up empty handed on the drive shaft markings so here goes...
My car is a 428-4v cj Ram Air mach 1. Built Feb. 18th, 1969 in San Jose. 3.50 traction-loc with a 4spd close ratio tx.
Driveshaft is being retubed. Too pitted to save and no markings that are recognizable :( but I saved the old weights and I got 1 old school fomoco universal joint! :)
Any marking info would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

Hi
I was lucky to have an unrusted and easily cleaned driveshaft ! It did have the colors listed at 428site for my car (428SCJ/4 speed).
Shown here - there was a "orange stripe" on the shaft also

Was this to provide "front back" before the yokes were added in sub assembly?

Order of the colors likely indicated the direction to the guy assembling the sub assembly (putting the trans yoke on the driveline)
Additonal marks could mean many other things

Thanks Jeff
I figured that the colors at the yoke (pink) were different for BB vs SB trans too!

P.S. Was orange specific for bigger ujoints at rear?

Possibly but we would only be guessing at this point ;)
