Title: 1967 AM/8-Track Knobs
Post by: Toejamm on January 12, 2012, 02:05:27 PM
Hi,

I am at the end(almost) of restoring my 1967 Branded Mustang.  During the resto, I replaced the cracked console with  a repop from NPD.  When I installed the AM/8-Track the balance/fader knob rubbed on the console.  I have 1967 factory knobs.  I thought the knobs were the same for console/non-console in 67 - Am I wrong?

Thanks,
Fran

1967 the radio knobs are identical on a console and non-console installation.

1968 there were unique elongated knobs for console equiped installation.

68's needed to be longer because of thr padding I assume?

that is correct (due to padding) based on my observation and hands on experience.

I'm in the process of installing a 67 am/8 track in my fastback.   I would also like to add the speakers to the proper location in the doors.  Can anyone point me to some where that i can find a template to make the factory speaker cut outs?  Could someone perhaps make the for me?   Desperate !  Thanks.
