On a 70 San Jose Mach 1, was blackout appied to the tail light panel around the honeycomb and/or the tail light bezels?? Anyone have pictures?? Thanks
-
No black paint on the taillight frames other than the standard 70 detail in the recessed areas. As for pictures of a 70 SJ Mach I taillight panel black out without the trim panel or taillights installed I don't have any - sorry. Seem to have NJ and Dearborn but no San Jose ones now. Details appear to be similar to Dearborn and the black out does not extend above the trim panel (other than at the lock) and they do extend (one of the main purposes) out under the taillights at the inner surfaces into the taillight opening

Thanks Jeff, so is there a black square just around the lock hole? how big? where does the black stop on the top of the lock hole? I understand now about the space between the tail light bezel and the honeycomb but not clear on the lock hole. If you have some pictures with the trim in place, that would be helpful even if they are not SJ cars.

Here are to versions from 70 Dearborn production. The height of the upper edge appears to be the difference- Nov 69 to the edge of the trunk opening lip and one spring 70, to mid way across the trunk lock. I do have a NJ example but its all the way into the opening of the trunk like the Boss
Since you have a San Jose and We don't have an example I would use the midway across the trunk lock - but that is just a choice :)
