Title: 67 parking brake spring
Post by: 67gta289 on April 29, 2012, 04:57:03 PM
Can someone describe the characteristics of the correct parking brake spring for a 67, such as overall length, coil diameter, number of coils?  How about some pictures?  Thanks, John.

Which spring? The ones at the end of the cable, the ones that go around the outer jacket at the rear.........

Excellent question.  I was initially thinking about the one towards the front of the car, but in fact will need details on all of the above to get it right.  I'll take whatever you have time to dig out.  Thanks.

Got it.  The cables were long gone by the time I bought the car in 1980, so had nothing to dissasemble in that regard.  I looked at the drawing in the chassis assembly manual to see for myself.  So now I'm just looking for pictures of the springs at the rear drum backing plate area.  Thanks.
