Title: 67 390 battery?
Post by: LSTCUP on May 06, 2012, 12:55:28 PM
I'm finding conflicting information, which battery came in the 67 390 the 24f or the 27f, if it's the 27f I'm in luck because a friend just gave me a new autolite,

Well you don't have the luck of the Irish. your 27F info provider is misinformed. 24 f is what the 390 or even 428 (if Shelby) would gotten in 67 . FYI same goes for 68.  69 is when the Mustang got the 27 F.  If you are going concours unfortunatly the only battery available for your 67 is a copy of the 68-70 24F assemblyline Battery. I provided a picture of each for comparison. 67 is on the right. The base battery had yellow caps in 67 and the heavy duty had the red caps.

Fortunatly for you the 24 F red capped battery like in my picture to the left. It is what the repro battery was copied after.
