Title: 67 289 conv motor mount frame brackets
Post by: C5ZZ on May 11, 2012, 02:04:20 PM
I have heard that the motor mount frame brackets for a
67 conv 289 are different from the other motor mount frame
brackets used on small blocks for 66-70, is there any truth to this?
If there is a difference what would it be?

Yes, they are different. There is nothing interchangable between 67 and late 66 and 68 thru 70 289 and 302 mounts. The difference is the angle on the frame bracket and engine insulator where the long bolt goes.

I seem to remember that the 67 small block convertibles use the "big block" frame brackets, the lower mounting bolt hole is moved....

More info here... ( I hope scott doesnt mind  :) )  http://www.428cobrajet.org/id-motor-mount-support-bracket.html (http://www.428cobrajet.org/id-motor-mount-support-bracket.html)
