Title: 67 Engine Comp.
Post by: Toejamm on May 18, 2012, 05:47:08 PM
Can anyone post a picture of a correct, 1967, 289, San Jose engine compartment?  I have been invited to display my car in Building T at Carlisle in a couple of weeks and I am trying to get my decal placement right the first time.

As always, thanks for the help,
Fran

Here is on of our 67 SJ GTA convertible. Looks like I did not have the Autolite spark plug decal on the back of the aircleaner lid yet.
That is cool your car will be on display at Carsile. I wish I live closer. Marty

Well since you didn't provide the size of engine,  AC? or when the car was built I'll guess non- AC, 289 and sometime in the spring

Here are a few pictures

What I'm seeing - air cleaner decal, service decal, engine ID, filter service (side of air cleaner), battery inspection,  and none on the breather

Hope these help

Thanks Marty and Jeff. Very helpful.

Maybe it is just me, but wouldn't it be great if this website had a section titled "Engine compartment decal placement".  Definitive answers, accessible to all.  Hell, I am so used to seeing "Caution Fan" stickers, for so long, I have to resist the urge to slap one on every time I open the hood.

Thanks again,
Fran

Nice idea and at least one of the smaller projects I guess I can look at taking on come the slower part (when there are no shows) of the year.

Sorry Jeff.  I guess I didn't realize you were a "committee of one".  Thanks again for all you do.

Not always - lots of great support here- but in this case/example I'm the guy with all the pictures so we can show trends and changes through each year and plant

Good things take time ;)
