I'm trying to polish up my coupe a bit more for its final Conservator showing at Concord and was wondering about one detail. Is the spring
inside the snorkel of a 68 air cleaner supposed to have paint on it? Mine does right now and for the life of me I can't remember if this is
right. I have the feeling it isn't and I want to correct it, if necessary.

can't positively speak for your year but 65-66 cars do have a painted spring.
-
I can not say positively either but also would put my money on the painted. Marty

Thanks, I'll leave it alone then. Just wanted to make sure.

Always seen painted

Thanks Jeff, I'll be having a little talk with the smart guy at a show last week who told me it shouldn't be.

Laurie,
I looked at a unrestored 68 snorkel I have in the shop today and the spring was painted in it. Marty

Thanks Marty!

Well you know :) none of are smart all the time - unless your named Smart. But then you can't always be correct. Wonder if there is anyone with the name Correct?
