Title: snap studs for quarter panel cover 66 convertible
Post by: tnguy624 on July 25, 2012, 09:39:43 PM
Well I have come upon another dilemma, I hope I can get some help on! I am trying to to find the snap stud that went on the metal piece that attached to the fiberglass quarter panel cover, its the one where the quarter window handle goes through.

I found the ones that Scott Drakes makes for the fiberglass part that's covered with vinyl,  but what I cant find is the one that goes on the metal piece. That one doesn't have a flange on it like the Scott Drake ones do. I tried using one of the Drake ones but because of the curve of the metal where it goes, the stud wont sit flat.

I've looked online and have found flangeless studs that are secured with a pop rivet, but they are not tall as the original ones. Does anyone know where I can find the right ones?  It appeared that the original ones were a gypsy stud like the drake repros, but just didn't have a flange.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Terry

If you find some, let me know.  Had no luck locating any, I usually leave the stud in place and tape it up before stripping the panel.
