Title: fuse box location
Post by: DWhitaker on August 11, 2012, 02:41:15 PM
Does anyone have an underdash pic of exactly where the fuse box mounts to the firewall on a 68? The repro firewall pad I have has a spot prepunched for it, but it is at an angle. I'm not sure it is precut in the right spot as it seems like it should mount vertically. TIA for your help or info.

Should be existing holes in the firewall...  mounts vertical on most I've seen.  Left side sits above the accelerator pedal by about 1", some shots of a San Jose 68 S GT here...

Thanks Richard. Those first 2 pics showed me exactly what I needed to know. I appreciate it. Makes it a little harder when I'm not the one who took it apart and then the cheapie firewall pad is a whole other story.

I heard someone mentioned that a new recent reproduction firewall pad is in the offering that is claimed to be more historically correct and better fit. Anyone know anything about this?
