Title: Why The red stripe on front seat are different?

Why that I have 2 set of original seat of Mustang 1969 and they are not similar?  The red stripe are different.

The right seat on picture is dated  4  6  1969 and the red stripe is wide 1 inches 1/4 This seat are my original seat of my Mustang is built in New-Jersey 5  22  1969.

The left seat on picture is dated   3   4   1969 and the red stripe is wide  1 inches.

Who can say me it is what the difference between both seat?

My originals are both 1".
You could replace the damaged 1.25" stripe seat back with a 1".
If you change the whole seat, swap the date tag from underneath your original seat with the replacement.
I think you know this already since you provided the dates of your seats.

Our original seats in our Metuchen Feb. built 69 Mach 1 are also 1".

Guess we need to ask where you got the date from for both seats?  Is this from the back side of the material or from the seat spring label.

If you could look at the seat material from the rear we could compare who made it  or when it was made - either one could explain the difference. Replacement material was available from 40 years ago and not always (rarely) did it match the original exactly-

Another question - is the drivers seat the one that is not the 1" measurement ?
