Title: Engine Compartment Nut/Bolt Kit
Post by: jatkinson on December 17, 2012, 08:15:03 PM
New member here. Just wondering if anyone makes  a nut and bolt replacement kit. A kit that I can use to replace the hardware in the engine compartment in a 70 Mustang ? Thanks

Yes AMK does - their available through places like NOD and Virgina Mustang (as well as direct). Doing all of the nuts and bolts can cost $$$'s but they are available.

One additional bit of information is that the kits do not often match the original head markings (different plants and time periods used different suppliers) Also the kits are fairly complete but they often do not have everything 100% of all the pieces but you'll have to look at the lists of what is included in each kit.

Keep in mind that when the kit's requirements were first generated, they used Ford Service documentation in some applications which was all the information they had. The major differences I've found are on 64 thru 65 hardware kits, the 67 and 68 kits I've used were more accurate. How that will affect your 70 application is unknown.
