Title: 390 timing
Post by: V8_bloke_28 on December 18, 2012, 06:38:57 AM
Hi, I have a 67 mustang 390 auto with air and was wondering what the timing should be once the vac hose has been disconnected and plugged off. The engine is stock but it has an old electronic ford dizzy?

Believe if its not equipped with Thermactor its 10 degrees BTDC

Start there and if you get any ping under load (full throttle) then back off the advance by a couple of degrees until it disappears
