Dearborn May 70 Boss 2
I have a question on primer and what I found on my car.
1. Underside from just in front of the front torque boxes (lower firewall area) back was the batch primer (greenish color)
2. On the drivers and passengers wheel well outside fender skirts, including behind the coil spring areas, same green batch primer
3. Underneath the engine bay area, such as: bottom of frame rails, inside of strut rod front mounts, up inside the lower Control arms, etc, is what appeared to be red oxide primer
Would they have mixed primers and used red oxide just in those areas I mentioned?
Thanks,
Tony

70 (and some in 69) at Dearborn was a funny year in relationship to primers and such. Its not unusual (in my observation) for the floor color to extend forward of the firewall into the front wheelwells and even to the bottom of the front frame rails and front cross member. Can't explain how this was done (guess that's not my job - only that it happened ;)
Guessing that we have red oxide first (this would produce evidence in tight or missed corners on some examples) then the floor color over that.
Yes have seen and expect the patterns that you describe on many other 70 Dearborn cars

Thank you. This is exactly what I am going to reproduce.

Always a good plan on reproducing what you find on the car that appears original and checks out ;)
