Title: 1970 shaker hood
Post by: rayms69 on February 09, 2013, 01:25:09 PM
Does anyone have experience with reproduction hoods, shaker and twistlocks are needed on  mine. I am skeptical/scared to buy one. Any recommends. I have a 69 shaker hood and dont really want to cut twist lock holes.

I would not cut the 69 hood...those are really hard to find in good condition.  You should be able to find a correct 70 hood and at least trade.  Otherwise the 70 style is alot easier to find these days than the 69 hood.

The Artiflex ones are really nice quality and accurate.
They used to be Gerstenslager, and were an OEM of hoods and other sheet metal for Detroit starting in the 60's.
You know Mark, if you get a 70 hood and want to part with the 69, let's talk.
