Title: 69 Dearborn Mach 1 S Code Toploader
Post by: G Wood on February 23, 2013, 05:45:40 PM
Can anyone share photos or comments regarding what paint markings or other marks that may appear on a Dearborn 4 speed. Mine has been painted and after I have cleaned it there I cannot locate any factory marks.

Thanks

Yes, that is correct. Is that GM or a RUGM in yellow?

Thanks

Ford practice by 69 was just the G and M. The one Tim posted is the one with the crooked G leg (both the straight and crooked were used) Of course this just identifies the pattern not the specific trans code your might have - check the tag ;)

Normally a yellow mark (could be daub or stamp depending) - Assembler/inspector number in yellow above the shifter shafts. The rest are normally another number  on the passenger side free hand and a couple of other paint brush symbols oen that likely IMHO indicated that the case was filled
