I was looking at a 65 Dearborn car on ebay and noticed rounded (San Jose?) top straps on the radiator. Did some research and believe the square top straps are correct as per
http://blog.virginiaclassicmustang.com/2010/11/1965-mustang-high-performance.html
but noticed mine are a little different.
Anyone ever see the little loop on the top before? From the date code I believe the radiator is the original.

That's what I was thinking but it looks too neat to be done at most radiator shops I ever went to. ;)
Passenger side looks identical.

Yes, the Dearborn radiators have squared off straps. The San Jose straps are rounded and the tank tops are stamped versus the driver's side strap on the Dearborn tanks. My radiator was restored (does not have the nice "X" that Brant has on his shown at the VCM site) and a couple of pics are attached, June 64 Dearborn.

Thanks for the pictures and info. Looks like the corners of my straps are clipped a little more than your and Brant's too.
Still can't figure out the 'loops' unless a radiator shop did it?

My factory original radiator (from a late July 1965 Metuchen built Coupe) has that loop as well. I'll post some pictures later.

Here's a shot of my radiator (July 1965 Metuchen car). My rad also has the raised "loop" on both the driver's side and passenger side of the rad and a braised welded tag on the passenger side. The radiator is original to the car. The rad tag is C4ZE M2 which is supposed to denote a 65/66 with Auto and AC (which matches my car exactly).

Interesting to see another loop, but isn't that radiator strap an San Jose thing? The rounded straps?

For what its worth, here's a picture of the radiator I took out of a Dearborn built 1965 GT with a build date of 4/65. This was in the car back in 1976 when I first got it. There are not markings on the side straps, just the tank top.
