Title: dash pad
Post by: 70Mach on March 15, 2013, 03:53:09 PM
'70 Mach w/black interior.  This is probably a dumb question but I don't know the answer.  I have a black dash pad with the Ford oval & name on the bottom side of the pad that came with the car.  Car was in pieces when purchased.  I'm assuming this is a replacement dash, was it made by/for Ford since it has the stamping?  Is it supposed to be painted? Or left as is?  If it's suppose to be painted; what color, black or match the lower dash, flat or semi-gloss?  Thanks!

It's supposed to be black for your car and they're always unpainted.
Are the center a/c vents installed in it?
I haven't had my dash out in decades.
I can't remember any stampings or part numbers molded in, but I never looked for it either.
How about a pic?

This is what is on the bottom of the dash.

That is the same marking that was on my "Ford Tooling" repro dash pad.  The original did not have this.

That's what I figured, but I didn't have the package it came in.  Thanks!
