Title: Better Than Liquid Wrench?
Post by: jwc66k on April 22, 2013, 08:41:19 PM
I took a ride to Gilroy, CA (home of the garlic festival) today to check out another restorer's garage. He does roadsters, and does them well. One tip I picked up from him was to make a 50/50 mix of transmission fluid and acetone to use instead of Liquid Wrench, WD-40 or other thread solvents on rusty hardware. Has anyone else heard of this or used this mix?

Yes and have used it for many years also for those that have had to deal with cosmoline =diesel and transmission fluid with acetone.
