Title: 1966 round window adjustment plug covers

Were the round access covers(plugs) for the door window adjustment painted body color?

Anyone know where these were painted?  Were they laid on the dash, package tray, or trunk or were they painted separately like the fenders, valances, etc.?

Haven't ever observed areas that looked like they were placed on a car when painted.  Definitely not under the dash pad.

+1  - have never found the paint shadows for these like we find the window adjusters on 69's
