Title: 68' SJ built Idler Arm, Need Help
Post by: somethingspecial on May 19, 2013, 06:45:51 PM
Can anyone tell me if the 68' SJ built cars use the same Idler Arm regardless of Engine.  i.e. It the J code the same as the S code cars.  Does anyone have a pic of an original S code Idler arm if it is different, otherwise just a pic of an original Idler Arm is good.  Also, was there a running change on the arms, I have  five (5) idler arms, two are the same, the other three are all different.  I'm so CONFUSED  Thanks.  Mike

small block and big block are the same - then there  are non- PS and PS variations of those

Lots of replacement ones out there - sometime often changed first in the suspension it seems

Jeff, What is the difference between the PS and non-PS Idler arms?

Jeff, What is the difference between the PS and non-PS Idler arms?

We learned that the mounting section is shaped differently http://www.concoursmustang.com/forum/index.php?topic=6145.0 (http://www.concoursmustang.com/forum/index.php?topic=6145.0)

And since the pittman arm at the steering box is different (believe its length and possibly angle) so is the arm part of the idler arm
