I recently posted a topic about reproduction firewall pads, and the consensus is that I should hold out to find a restorable original. I understand that that can take some time, in some cases, even years, so for the time being, I thought I would try to work with what I have in the car.
I'm mainly interested in what kind of texture an original firewall pad for a 1966 Dearborn car would've had. My car was built on Dec. 8th, 1965. If I could see examples of an assembly line original, I believe I could get fairly close to duplicating the texture on the smooth reproduction pad I have in the car now. It's not the best solution, but it'll be better than nothing, at least until I can find that elusive original.
