Found a gray luggage protector strip on a Metuchen '68 convertible, early December build date, 12/3/67. I'm pretty sure it's original. I know these are more typical for later years. Anyone else seen this on a '68?

Have a Gray one in a June built San Jose coupe. It's original to the car.

I have one in my Dearborn-built coupe.

Typical supplier for Dearborn and NJ in 67 on up. In a rare example a few have shown up on San Jose (limited shipments from this other/not typical San Jose supplier) cars during those periods. And I've been collecting these for allot of years ;)
Here are the ones I picked up on my last yard trip (not today) - Few gray ones in the bunch

Majority of 68s used gray in all plants from what I've seen. Blacks used as well, I think it was vendor

Thanks. It came up in judging recently. The MCA rules allow for either black or gray, but it was something I wasn't very familiar with.

The one I found on the '68 looks like the one in your picture on the far right. No notch.
