I have been informed that the Screw that holds the "L" Bracket to the apron is supposed to be Yellow in color. If this is true where can I get one with this finish. Not sure if it is Zinc Dichromate or Yellow Cad. I looked through AMK's catalog but couldn't find anything.
Oh by the way my car is a 70 Boss 302 built on Sept 28, 1969 in Metuchen in case that makes a difference.
Please Help
Steve

That's interesting - wonder what it would have been Dichromate. Not arguing just must be a plant thing if correct. Sorry can't be of any help with buying a new one - don't really use AMK or part places for bolts and hardware.

Hi Jeff,
I'm not saying it is correct, It is something someone brought to my attention at a show recently. The other items this gentleman brought up turned out to be correct. Do you think Perkins would know?
Thanks for your input & Best Regards,
Steve

For what it's worth, the 1970 Osborn electrical assembly manual describes the bolt finish as "S36". The AMK "Guide to Ford Fasteners" describes S36 as "ZINC PLATE PLUS CHROMATE IRIDESCENT YELLOW".

Thank you Scott,
Could you also tell me the finishes on the Rain Gutter and Rev Limiter hardware?
Best Regards,
Steve

Thanks for the info figured that is whee it came for. Seen allot of them that were not that finish . wonder if its a plant think or a change not documented in the assembly manual (something changed the day after that page was printed)

Exactly the same. Keep in mind what Jeff is saying, though. Factory-installed hardware might not match the documentation.

AMK does sell the 90 degree bracket to inner fender fastener in the kit pictured.
I just bought their 70 battery hold down kit comprised of 2 J-Bolts, 2 nuts, and 1 screw.
The 70 J-Bolts are longer than 69 because the 70 hold down clamp is thicker.
I'm disappointed in the bracket fastener having screw thread though.
I expected a bolt thread.
After all, are the inner fenders not equipped with a nut stitched into them?
Sure looks like the NOS service replacements do.
Let me know the case with your original please.

All of the 67-68 original aprons that I have seen used the screw type fastener.

70 battery apron has a punched non threaded starter type hole with no nut on backside but 71 (totally different setup )does.

This screw is correct for a 70 Mustang any type (Fastback, coupe).
