Title: 69 Antenna
Post by: Brian Conway on September 28, 2013, 01:23:02 PM
Is it possible to identify this antenna by the C9AA-18A927-A ink stamped on the down side of the bezel ? If so; assembly line, service department or after market ?  Thanks,  Brian

No, the bezel fits other applications also. Is it correct for Mustang, yes. Your antenna is also correct as it has round mast and teardrop black insulator.

Brian the best way to check is looking under the cast base for fomoco 7-292 for 69-70 assembly line antenna & c9za # on bottom of rubber mount as cougar is c9wa. Many antennas look the same but the cast id # & rubber molded in # have to be correct for antenna to be mounted concours correct.

Thanks for the tip.  It seems that Ford took some extraordinary steps to insure that the antenna would be securely attached to the car.  I am going to leave well enough alone and not try to get a peek at the down side of either part.  I think I understand the " mounted concourse correct " portion of your statement.   Brian
