Title: 69 driver side front floor pan
Post by: Rsanter on November 30, 2013, 01:03:37 AM
on the 69 conv an underside inspection today shows that I have a little rust in the floor.
not bad but a section of about 6x6 will need repaired/replaced.
so, does anyone make a correct floorpan for the 69s?
does anyone out there have a donar car they can cut a piece from?
the welding is not a problem, that I can take care of but this car has to be right. it is a sort of survivor car in that we have not done that much work to it for the mileage it has and when we have worked on it we have done so as kind as we could

Try some Mustang vendors, i.e., NPD, CJPP. Go to Ebay.  Hope this helps.

What specific area needs repair? A 71-71 floor pan is nearly  match to the 69/70. The difference is the frame rails in a 71-73 are wider so the "fingers" as I like to call them do not extend as far to the center of the floorpan. So depending on what portion you need to repair there are options.:

The area that needs to be replaced is between the frame rail and the rocker and right in front of the seat pan.
The area is largely flat where the obvious rust is but gets right up to where the beads in the floor is so I am sure those will be thinner than desired
I suspect that it frm leakage where the top, the windshield post and the door class met. For years this area would drip a little and there was no replacement rubber available for years. Now there is from what I hear

Contact Kevin Manley at Kevin's Klassics in Minnesota.  He has the correct floor pan piece you need.

Depending on which section your looking to replace the standard repo does not match the pattern and shape of the originals Try Kevin (mentioned above) and the article in the library related to your issue ;)  That's why they are there. This article was provided and written by Pat Wahlen a member
