Because my latest purchase was mostly disassembled, I just now noticed that the Passenger Seat is adjustable. The seat and back still have their tags and are correct. I was under the impression that the Passenger Seat was fixed. Did someone simply add the adjustable tracks or was there an Adjustable Passenger Seat Option?
Thanks
Ray

Fixed passenger seat was a 64.5 feature only.

And I thought it was phased out early, like May of '64.

According to WWW.Early-Mustang.com "the Passenger seat was not adjustable until 5/08/64".
See http://early-mustang.com/index.php/64-list-of-differences
My 1964.5 Mustang built July 30, 1964 at San Jose has an adjustable passenger seat which appeared to be an original when I bought the car in 1975.

The fixed passenger seat frame was unique, you cannot add seat tracks
onto one, the frame is straight on a fixed seat and dished in on a adjustable
seat for seat track clearance.
Special studs and cups were used to mount them in the car.
The early drivers seats used along side the fixed passenger seat were also
different, the mounting holes for the tracks to the frame are spaced different
from the later ones so the later tracks would not bolt on with modification.
