Title: 67 door speakers and more
Post by: 67gta289 on January 28, 2014, 09:19:17 PM
Grabbed these from an Ebay posting for 7F03S134867.

1. Finally a picture of the elusive AM/8 Track stereo door speaker cut outs.

2. 390 C6 with tach = 6,000 RPM (at least on this car...it is 1967 after all...)

Other than the black two tone paint on the hood (68 option) it looks very original.

Guess a PO drilled a couple of extra holes in the air clearer to get more flow???   Only to have someone else later in the cars life put rubber plugs in them. Can understand - we've always looked at that air cleaner and wondered how the engine got enough air at full throttle through that small necked snorkel.

But it worked ;)

This one confirms what I thought, that the speaker holes were not stamped but cut as needed. Note the small holes drilled for the corners and then cut between.

The speaker holes match the original door cut outs on my April 68 Dearborn car.  It looks like a small hole saw in the four corners and straight cuts between them.
