Title: Mystery screw under dash

Anyone know what this screw is for?  It's behind the instrument panel, mounted in a brace in the upper left.  Had a little piece of dark gray cardboard under it still.  From an Oct 64 San Jose Fastback.

The shield is available from NPD and others, around $5.
