Title: Hood scoop emblem or not
Post by: Rsanter on February 27, 2014, 01:18:44 AM
I have a 69 convertable that I am redoing. The car has the 302 in it
I am adding the mach1 scoop to the car and will have the lights working in the scoop and all.
The scoop I got came off a 70 Mach with a 351 so it has the 351 emblem on the scoop.
If mine were to come from the factory with a scoop would it have had the 302 emblem on it or would it have been blank.
I know I'm not sticking to original but rather to ' if ford had done it, this is how it would have been' standard

Don't recall ever seeing a 302 hood scoop emblem. Only 351-390-428. If you can find a 302 emblem with ford casting numbers then that might indicate what Ford would have done.

I have never seen a 302 emblem original either, that is one reason I am asking
I see they have them in the. Catalog but I suspect they are a ' repo' of  one that never really exsisted.

I worked at a Ford dealer in 69-70. Never saw any 302 call badges on cars equipped with a hood scoop. Like the others pointed out only 351,390 and 428 cars had the scoop badges.
