Title: 65 Fan Shroud ?

On a late May 65 HiPo SJ car would there be any paint on the fan shroud rubber?

Original ones I've seen had paint on the rubber and staples

I've seen some service replacements with black paint over the pad and staples, but not sure if this was done on assembly line parts.

Good point - I do have what I believe may be an assembly line one out in the garage. Will see if I can get a real good close up to see if there is any paint on the staples. Under the is pretty rusty (light Calif rust on much of the rest (about 60%) of the other surfaces
