Title: Tail light Dot ?
Post by: Brian Conway on April 15, 2014, 11:15:31 PM
Have a tail light bucket with a yellow/orange dot on it.  No dot on the other one.  Anybody else seen one of these before ?  Brian

Judging by the the looks of it, it would appear to be an inspector's mark or assembly marking of some kind, but none of the 4 buckets I have show a similar mark.

Have seen marks like that applied on used parts purchased at yards. Wonder if that one has been replaced at some point in the past.

Don't have any examples of other 69 taillight housing marked like that

At the show in Charlotte Jack and I were looking over Jim Woods CJ Grande and noticed a similar marking in Light blue on both tail light buckets and it sure looked original. As I remember his is a San Jose car.  Jack took pictures.
