Have problems finding the correct decal for a 69 390 air cleaner lid. The 390 high performance decal seems to wide. What should be the correct decal ?
-
First welcome to the site - hope you find it useful in your efforts
This might help ;) This one didn't get ordered with the engine dress up option but should be the same

Hello Jeff.
So if my car wasn´t equiped with a standard dress-up option it should have a painted lid as in the picture ? I have a marti deluxe rapport, should the engine- dress-up option be mentioned ?
The decal on the picture is different then the one i have so i will look if i can find one similair.
I hope someone has a picture of the correct decal for the dress-up option.
Thanks, Martin

Not sure about the wording "standard dress-up option" But apparently the chrome was an extra charge though few cars got ordered that way. I would suspect any car that was ordered or built by Ford for dealer stock got the chrome option
Another possibility is that it was an option at one point but was changed during the year at some point to being standard as a running change
Only have about six S code 69 Marti reports and none call out the option
I hope someone has a picture of the correct decal for the dress-up option.

Believe both used the same decal

Thanks for the info
Probably the 390 cubic inches decal. It is hard to see for me.
Maybe you can see determine which one it is
390
cubic inches
or
390
cubic inches
4v premium fuel

Looks to be this one - care of Virginia Mustang ;)

Not sure why they have it listed with two different catalog numbers
The one that some sell with the premium fuel wording has the white and black checker boards - not that is shown in the pictures (here are a couple more)
Consider that in 69 the engine no longer received the Holley carb and was not seen as a performance engine as it had been in the two prior years

I had the same question but had not submitted yet, what about any air cleaner replacement decals or other decals on the side of the air cleaner?
Thanks

Would have had the one on the drivers side that list the replacement filter element - don't buy the generic one ;)
Hopefully ECS makes one or you'll have to ask someone to make one. Shouldn't be too hard when compared to other decals - just ordered some decal sheets yesterday to see how well this new supper's products work if your ok with vinyl ones - don't think anyone is making the paper ones (other than a small run here and there for specific applications) right now

Thanks for the information

Thanks Jeff.
I will look for the 390 cubic inch decal.
