Title: 70 hurst shifter linkage resto ???

Hello. I am wanting to restore my factory 4 speed shift rods and transmission shift tabs, what would be the correct plating or  finish for these pieces?

There use to be a pic on Dan Williams Toploader website( i believe) with the linkage rods plated yellow zinc dichromate, and I was wondering if this was correct? I purchased an original lockout rod years ago and it appears to have a silver zinc plating on it. The shift tabs I'm tending to believe were a  black phosphate and oil . Any help to get this right would be appreciated
