I bought this NOS part # D9BZ-6260B for my concours correct exhaust.
When I got it - this is what it looked like

So I soaked it in Evapo-Rust

Impressive stuff. Maybe it will work on your rusted items too. Good luck

Yep, been discussed before, many of us here use it. I buy it by the 5 gallon bucket, it has saved me many hours standing in front of the blast cabinet. :D

It is good stuff. After the process - I sprayed them down with WD-40 and put them into a ziplock bag. Hopefully that will stop them from rusting till I need them.

Some of us use a small map-gas torch to remove all the moisture from the surface before coating with a rust preventative. Boe-shield is a good one, better protection than wd-40.

+1 Especially if your going to wrap it or seal it away in some fashion
Plenty of related threads and converts here :)

WD 40 is not a rust preventive not even really that good at helping with loosening rusty nuts and bolts
As we've found if you dip or coat the metal while its still warm from the process Charles mentioned it seems that the metal may "soak" up the protectant into the metal for better long term protection

Many thanks for the good advice!
