Would not expect anything else here on this forum ;)
Hope one or more fits you needs. Not an easy area to get a clear picture of. If you need a specific detail please ask and I'll start looking
Pictures are from a late 66 San Jose non- Thermactor, AC and PS V8 (12K miles) . Last picture is from an early San Jose car equipped the same way

Thanks Jeff really appreciate the photos and all the advise, my car is an 15 October 65 SJ built GT Convertible.
Also noticed the Coil is positioned verticially on the front of the block, is the correct position. As l mine is located horizional near the carby.

It appears to be a difference between 289 C and A codes and if they were equipped with thermactor.
With thermactor there is no room at the front of the engine to mount the coil so it was moved to the intake - passenger side.

Thanks for clarifying

Jeff,
This brings up a lingering question I have specific to your photo of the coil, mounted verticle, on the front of the passenger side head. When I relocate mine back to its original location on top of the intake (along with the original thermactor setup installation), does the engine code decal still get placed across the coil strap?
Not sure what SJ did here (our's is a 1-6-66 dated car). Have never been able to locate any evidence to support, one way or the other so far...
Thank you!

Good question and I don't believe its a San Jose thing since the decals were applied at the Cleveland engine plant. This helped in identifying the engines for shipment as well as at the car assembly plants once they arrived. Example would be that room full of engines recently posted in the members only area or the picture of the room full of engines at Holman & Moody
Let me look around and see if there are any examples of where they might have applied that ID decal on Thermactor equipped cars - It's a one year thing since in 67 they were moved to the valve cover on some small blocks (another can of worms) , timing cover on 6 cylinders and the head on big blocks

Sounds good Jeff. Sure do appreciate the effort. One of those items I've never been able to verify. That picture got a long look too. I can study those photos for a long time and still read posts later of those finding something I didn't see...incredible.

Here's a cartoon drawing I did for my car. It's a MAR 66 Metuchen C-Code with AC/PS and without thermactor, if that helps.

Of course not - but IMHO still worthy of a mention :) and a thanks
Did the same for a few years on the side - saw not problem with offering the compliment. Sure your choice of software makes it a bit easier than my choices.

+1
So as not to hijack this thread I'm going to start a CAD topic in the Lounge to ask a few questions. ;)
