Title: '68 glove box latch
Post by: Oz390 on October 10, 2014, 07:17:17 PM
One of my 68's had a stainless trim ring around the glove box button button.  Unsure if this is original.

On a late-ish (post strike) Dearborn car with no significant interior options (AM was about it).  My 3 San Jose 68's, 2 pre and 1 post strike, did not have it.

?

So it should be on all 68's?

Or only late Dearborn?

My really late (7/18/68) Metuchen FB has the chrome ring, I always thought they all had it. The car has the interior decor group, if that matters........

Our 68 Cal Special, Scheduled build date o3 April, SJ plant and with a standard interior has the stainless ring around the glove box button.  The only interior enhancement is the comfort weave center sections in the seat and Deluxe seat belts.  Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for the replies.

Based on inconsistent replies from a few sites not sure if it supposed to be on all, and many have just fallen off, or if there is a pattern to use and non-use depending on plant and options.
