Anyone know what is this pulley? It seem to be aftermarket dealer install for my incomplete a/c set up when I bough my 66 mustang, (A code 4 speed metutchen plant)

anyone know? I search a lot for some informations on internet and book but nothing...

Never saw anything like it. If it is an aftermarket add on AC system, maybe you could find some advertisements for it in old Hot Rod, etc magazines?

I have seen them before . Application 65/66 Mustang V8 A/C crank pulley from what I recall. I never paid much attention to them because they were outside my field of interest. I have always assumed that they were a Ford made part but may be some kind of aftermarket pulley.

If it's a small block Ford part I bet there is picture of it in Bob's Small Block Ford book. ;)

there is no ford part number on , only ''acme'' and ''FM-6317'' on the pulley face, somebody tell me its a small block add on for non factory power steering and A/C but sold by ford dealer...

+1 on aftermarket AC pulley...I saw them a lot in California Desert area circa late 70's-80's
Never saw them as a FORD part since FORD Dealer add-ons were different parts/pieces, usually interchangable only if full sets of pulleys/brackets.

Matches up to the notion these being aftermarket. "FM-***" designates it to be a Ford Motor application while a "GM-***" or a "CH-***" (possibly "CR***" I cannot remember now) would designate them as GM or Chrysler intended applications.

thanks a lot guys! so if I mount all the upper like factory a/c car with tecumseh compressor , can I keep this pulley or will have an alignement issue?

I wouldn't say it WILL NOT line up but I wouldn't be suprised if you did not line up. I will say if you use all parts/pieces from a single donor that has all the right parts/pieces, you will not have problems. It seems in the day, all the compressors were either York or Tecumseh and the bolt pattern on the compressor base bracket allowed for interchangeability of the compressors. The problem comes when two or more system's parts & pieces become interwoven. Some CARLINE systems needed more clearance than other carlines did, some vehicles had power steering when others did not and so on. Several brackets and/or pulleys and combinations of such things were used in the aftermarket world. Just be warned to check before final fitment. Some base brackets for the compressors were slotted to help out with alignment issues. Just food for thought.

Most of what is being said makes sense. Ford calls these systems 'Hang on A/C'. They could have been dealer or aftermarket installed. Very likely some old conversion kit pulley. We could ask Wile E. Coyote where he gets the ACME stuff.

I just receive my bob mannel small block book and its a really great bible but unfortunatly no reference about my add on pulley :(

Bob's book is Ford specific so if there is no mention of your pulley, it certainly was aftermarket. For his book it cover aftermarket parts it would be 100x the size. ;)
There was an Acme pulley just listed on ebay recently but no details on the part.
